character of Mr Satish godbole^^

    Mr Satish ,Satish's husband can be consider as unappreciated person .He doesn' t care what his wife sacrifice by making laddoos.He always make fun of his wife ability to make good laddoos by making Shashi felt very down when saying she was born only to make laddoos.
     He cares only his work and dignity.Then Mr Satish seldom eat his wife cook as he is too busy working until late night,so he decided to eat outside.
     In addition,he doesn't show his love towards Shashi.This shows when he suddenly hug his female worker in front of Shashi but never done it with Shashi.

     COMMENT:As spectator, I really dislike his character.he should be  more certain about Shashi feeling and never make fun of her English ....but luckily in the end,he knew he was wrong and felt guilty towards Shashi .

This movie is about Shashi Godbole (Sridevi) is a housewife who loves cooking and as a hobby makes and sells laddoos which she considers to be a small business. She is a dedicated homemaker who is taken for granted by her husband, Satish(Adil Hussain) and daughter, Sapna and is ridiculed by them for her extremely poor English. However, her young son Sagar loves her as she is. There are frequent instances when Sapna and Satish make fun of her weak English but they never try to console or help her. This makes a deep impact in Shashi's emotions and makes her feel bad about herself.


Shashi's older sister, who lives in New York, invites Shashi's family for her daughter's wedding. It is decided that Shashi will go to New York alone to help her sister set up everything for the marriage.one day,she wants to buy her lunch but something terrible happened until she decided to learn English.


Two characteristics that really make me admired her in this movie are her passionate to learn english and love towards her family.

Shashi passionate towards English becomes more and more after Shashi daughter,Sapna always condemn her language .But she took Sapna's words to challenge herself.

Next,she loves her families more than herself. During the day of her niece's wedding, Shashi dropped her ladoo she made for the gift for the guests. This causes her for not attending the final English test.Other than that,she misses her families every single minute at New York.
